Heading and Graphic - In Loving Memory Trent Denham Bailey
12th September, 1978 - 19th May, 2001

Our darling son and brother, for a while we were sitting here asking the good Lord WHY?

He had chosen to take you and we did not understand but while talking to your Auntie Bev, she said that we are all put on this earth on loan from God to do a job for him. Once that job is complete we are taken back. Well you must have definitely completed what you were sent to do. I think of how you have attended your church and helped in the running of the youth group. The lives you have touched by this especially your mates who I know started to attend the church with you. That must have been your job, to make sure they were heading in the right direction. That being the case it was a job very well done of which I am so proud of you for.

Rest easy my darling son and enjoy yourself.

You lived your life to the fullest and worshipped your God.

Trent one more thing I want to say to you. I (your mum) will never collect another Angel because my collection is complete now, I know you will always be watching over me and everyone else in the family.

Smurf playing Soccer 5th Year Angel Birthday
From a baby Smurfs were your favourite right up until the time you went, when you would still look for the cartoon on Television. Soccer was your favourite game at which you excelled.
I hope you like what I have made here for you mate.
The above graphic was made especially for the 5th anniversary of Trent's death. It was made by Katy from Sand Dollar Designs. You can visit this very special ladies site by going to my banner page. Katy you never forget. THANKYOU

Trent you once made me promise that if anything ever happened to you that the song "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday sung by Boyz II Men" would be played at your service, well sweetheart I carried out my promise and had it played. I also had the song here for quite some time but due to copyright laws have had to take it down. For quite a while I was very reluctant to do that because I felt that I was still carrying out my promise to you. I now know that no matter what, you know I did what I promised to do and that is really all that matters.

  "Your Loved One"
by Helen R. Crouse

Your loved one was taken from
you today. No more will he roam.
He went to live in God's house
and that will be his home.

Your loved one was called by God
today. No more pain and no more
tears. No more suffering, no more
fears. Yes God has taken your loved
one, you must travel the road alone.

You must not look back my dear, for
God has taken your loved one for His
own. He will rest in peace now, for
at least he is home.

NATURE'S RAINBOW

We held them in our parent arms
for days or weeks or years.
Now we hold them in our hearts
and cry the darkest tears.

The cord attached to children,
eternally find and strong.
We never leave the missing;
it holds us all life long.

Our children now inside us -
our souls tattooed with gold.
Their love, their words, caresses,
are hugs that we still hold.

If we open to the knowledge,
that they aren't completely gone,
we will sometimes feel their touching,
sometimes soft and sometimes strong.

When they show us nature's rainbows,
we can feel their proud delight,
sending signs to show they're living,
only far beyond our sight.

I was sent the first poem by a friend of mine from the Yahoo club I belong to. Her mother wrote it back in 1974. The poem is so appropriate, that with her permission I have added it to here. Thanks Kathie for sending it to me as it helped me along with other family members who were finding it very hard to cope at times.

The second poem Natures Rainbow is in a book called Stars In The Deepest Night and is in a collection of poetry "After The Death of a Child" it was written by Genesee Bourdeau Gentry after the death of her 21 yr. old daughter in 1991.
